Customer Reviews:
I took a chance... AND LOVE THEM! June 6, 2006 W. Mapp (Virginia, USA) These crab cakes are BIG...six ounces each...and very tasty. There is a nice balance of heat and spice. I'm sure they are made of backfin crab meat but I can't prove they were made from lump crabmeat because the cakes' inner texture is finely shredded--not at all what I am used to when eating the most desireable quality lump meat. If it is truly lump, they should be more delicate in the mixing process to preserve the presentation. Regardless, they ARE tasty. You'll want to flatten these and place in a preheated skillet with some butter (I add just a touch of garlic- and lemon-flavored Old Bay). I finish in the microwave at low power to make sure they are heated through without overcooking. I have sampled many, many seafood items through online purchase and these are--without a doubt--among the best crab cakes I've found.
