Awesome SteaksJune 12, 2008 D. Johnson(Stillwater, OK USA) These are the absolute best steaks I have ever purchased. I slow cook my filets using pecan wood in a smoker and my six year old (and my wife) swear they are the best they have ever tasted. Only problem is now my six year old (who wouldn't eat beef a year ago) has to have one cooked for himself (which he shares with the two year old). It gets more expensive now that he eats them :-).
My only problem I have had (besides them calling me to sell me more products) is when I try to quick thaw them. It is best to let them sit in the fridge for a day or so to thaw out. I have had some of the packages absorb water when thawed out in water (really frustrating). Omaha Steaks can be a bit pricey, but the Private Reserve Filets are definitely worth it.
I decided buying them through Amazon is better than buying directly because maybe now Omaha Steaks will quit calling me :-).
