I really enjoy this on whole grain or low carb toast in the morning. The other review here describes the texture of this product exactly! It has a very organic, authentic flavor and is not loaded with junk carbs and corn syrup like American jams are! I got a case of 9 jars and will certainly be ordering more when the time comes. I warn anyone with kids that they may not appreciate the neutral flavor of this product and they may take some time to appreciate it's taste. Sadly, most kids in the US will not eat anything that isn't loaded with tons of sugar!:( what a great, nutritious product!!
Whole Acai Fruit with just a touch of sugar September 3, 2008

I actually ordered 8 jars direct from the distributor (Grass Hut Treasures) as it was cheaper than Amazon. But either way, the product is the same.
It is really thick and creamy like chocolate syrup* and has almost a flavor reminiscent of chocolate syrup as well. But it is still fruity. Not too much sugar, just a touch. Way less sugary than regular American type preserves. It is a really deep dark purple.
*but not at all runny; there's no separation or clumps. It's definitely a solid puree type texture.
VERY well packed in thick cardboard. Underneath the paper and plant twine band top is a glass jar and regular twist top lid. The label around the jar is all in the Brazilian language. It took about a month from time of order to arrive via UPS to my San Francisco Bay Area residence. The order comes direct to you from Brazil. UPS required a signature for the package.
To me, the preserve is worth it as I feel it is the closest to getting the whole fresh fruit off the palm tree. Maybe it will become viable to grow it in places other than the Amazon but until then, the preserve seems the best way to obtain all the nutrition of this superfood.

I love it. It took 4 weeks to arrive but that's ok because it's the real acai berry and from the Amazon. Well packed too in thick cardboard! Thanks for offering a real acai product!
