Wasabi is the Japanese version of horseradish and comes from the root of an Asian plant. This powder is used to make a light green-colored condiment with a pungent, sharp and fiery flavor. The flavor of Wasabi is very intense before it slowly dulls. It is also a wonderfully natural emulsifier, much like mustard. Unlike most of the products on the market, this Wasabi Powder is ground from the actual wasabi root; it is not horseradish powder with green food coloring.
