Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This semi-soft sheeps milk cheese is handmade in the French Pyrenees. The Pyrenees Mountain range, a natural border that divides France and Spain, is populated by the Basques, a people who have their own customs and language. Although the Basques live on both sides of the border, they produce this cheese on the French side. Amidst the breath taking, rolling mountains of the Pyrenees, vast pastures stretch as far as the eye can see, providing fertile grazing for milk-producing sheep. P'tit Basque, made from pure sheep's milk, has a rather dry texture and an earthy, nutty flavor. It comes to us in a whole, uncut cylinder, offering a beautiful presentation as well as a lovely taste. Made from pasteurized Sheeps Milk

5 out of 5 stars For cheese lovers   December 9, 2005

This lovely cheese is delicious sliced thin or generous. The texture, flavor, and finish all accompany each other well. My favorite way to enjoy this cheese is with a slice of ripe pear. Any of the yellow varieties is best, but the pear must be ripe. If you can find a wheel without the wax coating the rind is edible and provides an excellent change in texture. When I shop for cheese P'tit Basque is always on my list. For those who are learning to explore their taste in fine cheese P'tit Basque is a great choice.

I love this cheese! My mother brought it home...it is a small round wax-covered cheese that slices easily and tastes great! Once you start eating it, it is difficult to stop. Yum. It goes exceptionally well with fresh tomatoes and good bread.
